Basics on editing pages in the et_wiki:

Entering terms
Enter reference terms (such as official approved terminology or language pairs) by clicking on the edit tab at the top of a page or section.
Lists
Numbered
At the start of each line enter the hash symbol (# - English keyboard, Shift 3). For a subcategory enter two hash symbols (#).
- Numbered lists are:
- Very organized
- Easy to follow
A new line marks the end of the list.
- New numbering starts with 1.
Bullet point
At the start of a line (eg, a language pair) type in an asterisk (*). If you want to start a sub-item put in two asterisks (**)
- Example ..... Beispiel
- Plant ..... Pflanze
- Garden plant ..... Gartenpflanze
- Dog ..... Hund
New lines
To start a new line without a bullet point or numbering, finish the line with <br>
Columns

{{Col-1-of-2}}
- Content

Tracking changes
Click on the history tab at the top of any page to see who contributed what and exactly when.
- To view all changes since your last edit:
- click on the HISTORY tab at the top
- select the version you last created (click on the circle on the left)
- make sure the other selected circle (to the right) is the latest version, if not click on the circle for the topmost version
- click on "Compare selected versions", selecting two versions to compare and clicking "Compare selected versions". If you disagree with the change, simply click on undo.
Layouts etc.
Please do not muck around with headers and the layout. Simply enter your terms. Search the page like any website by using Control F.
Links
Standard
If you find useful internet resources, place a link on the page (after the term) by pasting in the URL.
Advanced
Paste in the link between square brackets "[". Then describe the page after a space.
Example: [http://www.englishtalk.net/wiki/index.php?title=Idiots_guide Client and project coordination - Style guide]
Result: Client and project coordination - Style guide
Links within this wiki
Example: [[Official englishtalk style conventions|englishtalk style guide]]
Result: englishtalk style guide
Page redirections
If a page could be called something else and you still want to make sure users find the right page, use this command
- Create a new page with the new name
- Give the page no content apart from this tag: #REDIRECT [[Name of new page]]
(whereby "Name of new page" is the place the page will be redirected to)
